At the end of 2024, I set out to do my largest printed marketing champaign yet. The goal was to reach local businesses within my area, let them know that I am new in town, what I offer, and make some connection. I decided to get everything set up but post my flyers in the mail after the holiday season.
So I began designing my flyer with Canva, creating my mailing list based off of the Minot Chamber EDC website, purchasing a TON of stamps, and went for it.
You see, many people think that “print” is dead and that everything can be done online. And though that may be true for some, mail and print catches peoples eyes a lot more than email messages due to how few people take this route now. In this town, marketing has been a lot more of “word of mouth” than anything. So I have really had to think outside the box.
About a week after mailing my flyers, I received a call from the Northern Sentry, which is the base newspaper for Minot AFB. They had received my letter and loved the short little message I included and thought it would make a great story! They assigned a journalist to reach out for a phone interview and new thing I know, my story is in print!!!
This was such an amazing opportunity and a wonderful chance to tell our story. I am still in awe that we are on this path in life. And so thankful for all the opportunities we have been provided thanks to this business.
