My name is Jenetta, owner and baker of Jenetta’s Simple Treats, a locally owned and operated cottage bakery, currently serving Minot, North Dakota and the surrounding areas. I am also a proud military wife to my husband, Jason, and mommy to our son, Jenson.

Jenetta’s Simple Treats was opened in July of 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada as a way of helping me with my postpartum depression and anxiety. I started decorating mini cupcakes to relax and prepare for my son’s 1st birthday. I had never once “piped” a cupcake. My therapist advised me to “lean in” to the things that bring me joy. Next thing I knew, I opened a business and haven’t looked back. Before becoming a baker and a mom, I was a music teacher for kindergarten all the way to high school choir.
My favorite treats to bake are cupcakes. I love how much artistry can go into such a small canvas. Although they are my favorite, I love making all of the treats I have on my menu. I always look forward to seeing the smiles on my customers’ faces when they see, smell, and taste the treats I created just for them. It is such a rewarding feeling knowing that I am able to provide finishing touches to their special events.
Since opening, JST has been through a vast number of changes and improvements. JST has had the honor and opportunity to be a registered cottage bakery in Nevada, Florida, and now North Dakota. We have expanded and purchased a Treats Trailer that is used for markets and special events and have an official office within our home. In August of 2024, our family moved to the Minot, ND and purchased a home in Surrey, ND. After spending the last year apart while my husband commission with the United States Air Force, it has been such a blessing to all be back under one roof. And most recently, in April of 2025, I had the honor to help campaign for a change in our states Cottage Food Laws to now allow shipping, online sales, and consignments.
To all my customers past, present, and future, THANK YOU! You have helped me find my purpose beyond simply being a wife and a mother.
Thank you for being a part of this journey!
